Vietnam Chaplain Medal Certificate Group
This has to be the neatest R.V.N. certificate group I
have owned, All documents are named to Captain Fidelis J. Forrester ASN
02327519 of the Chaplin Corps. I spent part of 66 and all of 67
there and only saw one Chaplin in the field. The documents are all
professionally mounted on heavy wood plaques with clear matt finish over
them to protect them for ever. This form of mounting military documents
was pretty popular during that time period.
The documents are: Purple Heart Republic of Vietnam January 30th 1968 Bronze Star Republic of Vietnam August 1967 to July 1968 Air Medal Republic of Vietnam October 22, 1968 to November 22, 1968 Army Commendation Medal Republic of Vietnam August 1967 to June 1968 All of the mounting boards have a grove cut out of the back to use as a hanging strip I have collected Purple Hearts for years and this group was always on display as my only Chaplin related PH material. I have never researched who he served with or anything else about him. Will be a nice project for someone. Wonder where the medals are?

WWII US Silver Star Purple Heart Group
This is a nice set for Staff Sargent Robert Darnell ASN 34 249 947 of the 13th Combat Engineer Battalion, Seventh Infantry Division, who served in the Aleutians Islands, S. Philippines, Leyte Island, and the Marshall Islands operations. The group consists of one cased Silver Star numbered 84765, case in poor condition, one Purple Heart, case in poor condition, one good conduct medal, Sterling Silver Combat Infantry Badge, two Ruptured Duck button hole pins. A notaries copy of his enlistment record and separation listing the medals and noting that the SS was awarded under GO190 HQ. Also included is his shot record, a piece of Chinese paper money enclosed in plastic probably a short shnorter? and numerous paper items. I have seen other WWII groups where the CIB was included if the unit saw combat, I would love to see the general orders for his SS. The individual paper items are newspapers from 42 and 45 , shipboard papers, and family items. As you know any good WWII groups are getting rare. Condition of medals very good+ |

CBI DFC, AM PILOTS GROUP
This is a killer I just purchased this group in a antique shop with no
identification to the recipient of the medals. I asked if they knew who
sold them the items and by law they have to record all purchases off the
street so they gave me the persons name and phone number that sold the
group. I called the next day and they told be that the items belonged to
her first husbands brother but she would not give me his name. So with
out knowing who the guy was it doesn't fit into my collection that's the
only reason this group is being sold. The group consists of the following A- Distinguish Flying Cross slot broach, not named, cased. B-Air Medal full wrapped broach, not named, cased. C-Pair cloth Padded Pilot wings theater made bullion with sewn on snaps. D-Full 3" size clutch back sterling Pilots wings maker LGB. E-2" size pin back Pilot wing sterling maker AMICO. F-US Army Air Corp Bullion patch theater made on velvet. G- CBI Bullion patch made on velvet theater made, matches the USAAF patch exactly. H- Coin bracelet with four coins and CBI shield in the middle. I- Bracelet made from a officers US collar insignia10K gold maker LGB. J- one second Lt. Bar looks Australian made, two sterling 1st Lt. bars, two sterling captain Bars, one winged flight collar insignia, one DI that says I Serve, and one plastic son in the service pin. Its a shame we don't know who the pilot was who he flew for or what he flew, but as I said if I knew the group would be in my collection. Condition Very Good |

NYS GETTYSBURG MEDAL & GAR MEDAL
This is a small group that has the great NYS Gettysburg medal in it. I have always considered this commemorative medal to be the best Gettysburg state medal given out to its veterans. I have been buying any group that I have found with this medal for years. This group is just neat don't know who the guy was but the medals are accompanied with a 1903 letter that has written on the outside that this is Grandfather's Cousin's medal of one of the battles he was in in the 1861 war. 1- The NYS Gettysburg commemorative monument medal is in great condition with the full ribbon, 2- the GAR Membership Medal is a little worse for wear with the ribbon in poor condition. The medal is serial numbered P30108, 3- 1903 letter. Condition good & poor

I bought these out of my shop and may end up keeping them. The reason I may keep them is because the grandson brought in his helmet liner. EARLY MEDAL ORDER OF THE FOUNDERS & PATRIOTS
Another item I just dug out of the pile, This gold medal is and early issue with the serial number 215 named to Fred A. Plum. If you haven't seen this medal before it is just gorgeous to look at and made of Gold with enamel highlights. The ribbon if full color and the clasp is marked BB&B dated 9, 1897. The only defect if I call it that is the left side of the wreath is tarnished. Other than that is just a eye catcher. I have found Plum's son joining the F&P but nothing on sr. Plum? A rare early society medal and I believe that they are still an ongoing society today. Condition very good +++

North African Campaign KIA Purple Heart
A
friend of mine vet purchased this heart from the family of the vet.
The document is there and was folded at one time, the heart also shows
minor age and wear. Still, all is very collectable in condition!
The former owner was George P. Zilinski who was a corporal in the army
and served in the field artillery. George died, you will have to
research how, as a POW taken prisoner by the Germans in Tunisia. I
am sure you can research more, this was a very preliminary search I did
myself. Here are the locations of the basic information I cited:

USAAC D DAY 436 TRANSPORT GROUP
This small group consists of A- two newspaper articles about Sgt John
Crouse, B- Enlisted mans Id Card and registration card C- Two air force
patches and one transport command arched patch. D- Un-used Sgt. patches
E- Coin bracelet one missing F- Medals good conduct, European theater,
victory medal Eto ribbon bar with five stars G- AAF collar brass, Pres
unit citation ribbon. Neat little group bought in a antiques shop. The
following is the interesting history of the 436th. The 436th
received a
Distinguished Unit Citation for its Operation Neptune missions,
which were flown during the
Normandy invasion; dropping
paratroops of
101st Airborne Division inland from the
Utah beachhead early on 6 June; releasing
82nd Airborne Division gliders with
reinforcement troops and supplies in the evening of
D-Day; and carrying out re-supply drops and glider delivery the
following day. The group's aircraft flew supplies into Normandy as soon
as suitable landing strips were available, evacuating casualties to
England on their return flights. They also picked up undamaged gliders
on the coast. In July 1944, the group deployed 49 aircraft and crews to Italy to take part in the invasion of southern France, Operation Dragoon, releasing gliders carrying 82nd Airborne Division paratroops in the assault area on 15 August. It flew several resupply missions to France and then dropped supplies to Allied forces in Italy. The deployed element returned to England late in August, and in September the group carried out airborne operations over the Netherlands, dropping paratroops of 101st Airborne Division and releasing gliders with reinforcements of troops and equipment during Operation Market Garden. At the end of December 1944, the group flew missions during Operation Repulse, the re-supply of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge. It towed gliders to Wesel on 24 March 1945 to provide troops for the airborne assault across the Rhine, Operation Varsity. Further, it carried gasoline to the front lines and evacuated patients, 30–31 March. The 436th also flew transport missions almost daily when not engaged in airborne operations, hauling such things as gasoline, ammunition, medical supplies, rations, clothing, and evacuated the wounded to hospitals in England and France. After V-E Day, the group continued to evacuate patients and prisoners of war, and flew practice missions with French paratroops before being redeployed to the U.S. and inactivated. This is a really super jump jacket, I sold it a couple of years ago and
now bought it back. I have been trying to figure out if I want to

condition and still has a nice "greenish" color to it. Most seem
to be well faded but this one is not. The zippers work and are in
fine condition as are the buttons. It is complete with the belt
and I really don't know what else to tell you. It is not perfect
but is one of the best ones you will find around, I like it alot! |

The three six month overseas patch is also in bullion. The US and Air Corps insignia on the collar is untouched as its been there forever. W. Meddings Tiger Stripe Grouping
I personally love camo and I don't seem to care what era it is from, it is just cool! I have always been intrigued by tiger stripes but have only seen a few over the years, they are pretty rare! I had a chance to buy this group and a few others recently so I had to take advantage of the opportunity. It is also the appropriate time to start learning about such things! This group came from out west, a dealer bought the grouping from the family of the former owner. He was a medic in the special forces and hence had the stripes. There are several patches and other items included in the group which were his. Several of the patches are made in Viet Nam, I will only buy these from the proper or family sources. One of my fears is, I know to this day, flags, patches and other items are made by the same people of the same materials they were during the war. I think it is impossible to know 100% for sure if these items are period unless they have great provenance. So, my offerings will be far and few to insure the quality in the future.

VIET NAM TIGER STRIPE JACKET FOR PARADE
This is a Tiger Stripe Camo jacket that was worn by the veteran for the big parade they had in Washington years ago. I do not believe that the jacket is a issued item the cloth is different but it was worn by him in the parade. There are no maker tags and the cloth is a rough texture and the patches are new. There is no rank just the name Roberson with Viet Nam embroidered para wings above it, the left breast has the US para wings along with the Combat Infantry Badge. The left shoulder has the 11th Armoured Calvary Regiment and the right side the First Division patch. Left front pocket has a Ink? stain something that has colored the cloth and made it hard there. Late Spanish American War Majors Tunic
I have wanted something like this for ages, I am growing to appreciate the early American time period. I bought this one because it is in fabulous condition and reminds me of pictures from the civil war and Custer. It is for a cavalry major and has a great look. It shows minimal signs of age and wear, really super condition for its age!

Civil War Officers Frock Coat
Wow, a friend of mine bought this in a garage sale form the family for 12 dollars!!! He also bought two other uniforms that were Korean War era and Viet Nam. I assure you it cost me substantially more then 12 dollars! Anyway, it is not really my area although I can definitely appreciate the time period. I did a lot of research and consulted the appropriate people (three of them) who have decades of experience. It is unquestionably from the early Civil War time period and in wonderful condition. The material is fine and also in great condition. It does have a little bit of age and wear although it is minimal and extremely well preserved. The buttons are all marked and match in patina wonderfully. The cuff buttons are a different maker and all have the identical patina so we know they have been together for eons. Watching people that know these well was very interesting. This one is a single row of buttons and has the bent elbows in the design, I guess this practice stopped immediately after the war. It has a well padded interior and velvet around the neck, these are some of the things I noticed them checking for. It does show minimal age and wear but is extremely well preserved, it would be very difficult to upgrade it!

Viet Nam Era Tiger Stripes
Being a military collector I guess one area out of many I am fascinated by is camouflage material. I think nearly new tiger stripes are a very appealing pattern. I have been told when they were new and being worn in the jungle they work very well. The problem was, after being washed a couple of times they lose their color and start turning white. Once this happens you become a big target! Anyway, this one is an Asian Medium in size and as real as they get. The patches were added by a collector and not period applied.

M42 Jump Jacket | ||||
I have had this jacket for several years now. I sold it about 8 years ago, bought it back probably 4 years ago and am now going to let it go. It is in extremely nice original condition and still has a great color. It is not faded or at least if it has is very minimal and displays extremely well. It is complete with the original zipper and belt buckle, often the buckles are lost and replaced with buckles from other US uniforms. This one only shows minimal age and wear, nothing excessive and I am sure you will be happy! This sale is only for the jacket, the accessories are not included.

Early American Uniform With Picture Of Owner
This set came in on a hotel buy in the Pittsburg area a week ago. It was brought in by a family member early in the morning before I got there, Bob bought it. He did not get the name although there is a serial number in the arm sleeve so I am sure you could research this. The hat is the same hat as appears in the picture. The set is in fine condition and has an interesting set of black epilates on it, I have no clue what the black represents.

US Unit Marked Helmet 505 para or 28th Infantry
Unfortunately as with many of the US marked helmets, many we have no clue what the unit is. Sure, the 3rd division helmets and others we know but the small ones we will probably never figure out. Here is one of them, a friend bought it decades ago for nothing when no-one cared about US helmets. Not too long ago people would kick a D-bale helmet to look at a rusty HJ knife, German helmets were not regarded highly among collectors years ago either. Funny how times and collecting interest change! Anyway, this one has the standing lion painted on the side. My friend Tom Kibler did a bit of research for me to try and figure out who used this insignea. One would have been the 505 para guys and the other is the 28th Inf. guys. For the 28th, they were the "black lions" so you would figure they would have used a black lion so I am leaning to the para unit. When toalking to Tom it sound like the liner would have made the difference, when my friend bought his decades ago it had no liner. I could probably scratch up a para liner to put in it if the future owner were to desire. I like the paint because it does not glow under the black light and is a chalky type of paint I have seen on many original US helmets. Naturally this is a front seem fixed bail helmet as you expect to see in early vintage US helmets. It has a Westinhouse liner which is in fair condition, mostly complete but not perfect.

WWI U S 89TH DIVISION PAINTED HELMET
This 89th Division Helmet is fully painted in quarters one is Dark green one light green one dark green and one is orange. The 89th insignia is painted on both sides in a slightly different way. I do not know what unit in the 89th this represents but it is well done and shows just great. The liner is missing but the felt pad in the crown is there along with the full chin strap. I purchased this helmet from a gentleman who played war with it when he was a kid. The German helmet 2543 was also used by him. A neat helmet right out of the wood work. Condition very good +

US WWI CAMO HELMET | ||||
This is the 100% real multi color camo helmet from WWI. The colors are still vibrant and there is the typical spider poop on the helmet. There is one area about an inch where the paint was scraped off on the top which is OK as it still displays great. The inside of the shell is the standard paint and the liner and chinstrap are complete. On the back skirt the name Glen E Connay is almost professionally painted and a strip of white tape has Glen E. Connay 4 river view Cortland written on it. I have not researched this at all something for you to do. This helmet was originally purchased by a good friend over 30 years ago and sold to the collector estate I purchased it from. Condition very good ++

VIET NAM COWBOY HAT | ||||
ust picked this up a highly desirable early RVN Cowboy Hat. This hat is from the 1966-67 period. I had a similar one and I threw it away the lousy vinyl sweat band was a killer made you sweat all the more and then it irritated the skin. Anyways this is a well used cowboy hat that is nicely faded, and a little dirty. The cap required extensive sewing and was very time consuming in making them. This design only lasted about two years as they cost to much to make. This typical example has the two heavy duty aluminum vents on each side with a screen to keep out the bigger insects. One side has a snap to hold that side up. The red background white letter Viet Nam flash is covered in clear vinyl. Note just reviewed the photographs and the color is much better than what show up. Two Tone Camo Front Seem Swivel Bail US Helmet
I have had this helmet in my collection for several years. It has been one of my favorite helmets for some time but, times change. It is a rough sand finished helmet with a green and slightly darker green finish sprayed over it. Overall it is in really good condition but does show some age and wear with the paint being in the 90% range present. As mentioned earlier it is a front seem swivel bail helmet. The liner is mostly complete with semi worn parts that match the exterior of the helmet well. You never know which liners are originally to a helmet since they are so easily changed but I think this one is original to this helmet. It is nicely worn but not abused, I like it! |

Red Ball Express Ex Medic Helmet
This is a pretty cool helmet with a colorful history! During WWII there were no regulations on what made a medics helmet. Therefore you will see them with all kinds of different sized panels, amount of panels, shapes of the panels and crosses and more. It was not until after WWII that they had "regulation" medic helmets. Anyway, this one appears to have been a medics helmet at one point in time. I am not sure if the crosses were covered up or removed, between the age and light it is hard to say for sure. Whatever the case is, they are not there any more but you can see where they were. We do have the Red Ball Express" insignia on the front of the helmet in nice condition. I am sure you can easily research them as this is s pretty famous unit. The shell is in pretty good condition but definitely shows age and wear and is far from perfect. The shell is of a later WWII vintage and has a used liner in it. The liner is missing the leather sweat band but the rest is there and dirty, just like we like them! |

Unit Marked US Helmet | ||||
I have had this helmet sitting around for a long time now. It is in super condition which is why I never tried to sell it. This helmet was a closet queen and did not see a lot of use. I know a lot of people look at the condition of items to determine authenticity. This helmet is real but so new looking I just kept it tucked away. There are a lot of small units that we will never know "exactly" which unit they belonged to. Unless we get lucky and find a picture that helps us or a vet, we will never know. Anyway, we have a nice front seem fixed bale helmet in wonderful condition. The insignia appear on both sides of the helmet. I have inspected them with a USB microscope and they do show minor age and wear. The liner is also in fine condition but is missing the sweat band. Otherwise complete and nice! |

USMC Camo Helmet | ||||
To me this helmet oozes USMC Pacific theater! A friend just bought it on a hotel buy from the widow of a WWII vet. It had sat in their garage for decades so it does have some rust and age. One side definitely displays better then the other, still, it is a super cool helmet! Unfortunately my buddy did not ask for the name of the former owner, he is a great friend but does not think as a collector, he is more of a treasure hunter! Anyway, The outer shell either has some oxidation or it could be oil making it look this way. The liner is painted with the same camo pattern and it is obvious they have been together forever! The liner though has been much better preserved do tot he shells protection. The webbing and liner is complete although definitely shoes a lot of age and wear, but has the "been there done that" look. Oh, authenticity is an absolute "no-brainer" on this one too! Oh, it is a front seem swivel bail.

Killer fixed bail medic helmet, a piece out of my collection! I have owned this helmet for several years now, it is a super example with its original liner. Each side of the helmet has been painted with a circle with the red cross in it. The helmet is in fine condition and just shows enough age and wear to make it cool! Inside the shell there is a name and serial number, I am sure it could be researched. The liner has a red tape made into a cross on two of the sides, the front has a red diamond with a border around it. The back has a black stripe, super cool! Inside we have some missing parts and it could be easily restored if you so desire, I would just leave it alone. Killer helmet that would be near impossible to upgrade!

This Hawley liner came out of a collection being broken up. This 1942 period Hawley liner is somewhat used but is in fantastic condition with only a minor 1/2" cut to the fabric on the top reverse crown and the front brim has a brown line area from the leather chin strap being there so long. The inside of the helmet shows usage to the original leather sweat band with the painted green fasteners. The leather chin strap has separated from dry rot and the only marking on the inside webbing is the rear strap has a ink stamp J&J. The liner is stiff no soft areas and will make a great addition to an collection. Condition very good +++

WWI 78th Infantry Division Marked Helmet
This is a really cool helmet, what I really like is it appears as if there was a previous insignia under the current one. You can see how they painted it over and then put the current half circle with lightning bolt on it. The way the different types of paint have aged is very interesting, I have taken a few close ups for you to see, this always fascinates me. Otherwise the rest of the helmet is in fine condition. The liner is there and has a tag at the top. The chin strap is broke but all there, otherwise nice for something over 100 years old! |

What is rather neat to help place the early dog tags is a New York State National Guard medal for Athletic Competition with a bronze bar on the ribbon for Baseball 1928. The chit has a very old protective celluloid cover over it. It was framed when my friend bought it but he broke the frame and kept the "stuff" that was in it.

USMC KIDS HOLSTER & BELT
Saw this at a antique sale and had to buy it for you USMC collectors. This USMC holster has the EGA on the flap and USMC embossed on the front of the holster. The owner then added initials LRH. The belt is a typical cowboy leather belt but it has a EGA buckle that has a rust problem. I took most of the rust off but it needs further help. There is a 3/4 size chrome cap gun marked Army 45 (non working) included with the set up. I do not know if the gun is original to the holster but makes a nice set. Condition good +

I bought this set over 30 years ago and just found them again. This set of glasses consist of 25 glasses with one broken but there. This hand painted set must be a battle group or just the ships someone of rank served on. Each glass has a ship or squadron logo painted on it and the title of the ship or squadron along with the squadron's colors. I am not a Navy collector so I really do not know what the various colors stand for. Included in the set are the following ships. This glass set is really impressive on display, someone with talent did the painting on the glasses. The glasses are being sold as a set so please do not ask to purchase individual ones. Condition very good ++++ Figure extra for postage to wrap them well enough.

PARACHUTE D RING FROM MID AIR COLLISION
I like odd ball things I have seen so much common issued items that the unusual always catches my eye. This also came from my research pile something I never got around to doing. Here is a wooden circle 8.5" in diameter that has a photo of a crashed air plane, the red handle D pull for the parachute and attached cable, plus a metal tag stating Lt. B. H. Browning SNJ-4 Mid Air Collision 7-3-43. There appears to have been a set of wings glued above the D ring at one time. something unusual and kind of neat. Condition good++

The inside flap is marked with the maker stock no. and dated 1945. The outside flap has a metal cap to fill the bladder. The back straps are complete with full paint on the metal parts. SNY CIVIL WAR CARTRIDGE BOX AND CROSS STRAP
This just came out of an attic at Sackets Harbor NY. This cartridge box and cross strap have been in the attic too long and show the effects from the heat. Having said that its the first complete cartridge box I have gotten in too many years. Where to start, The SNY buckle is a great strike and still held on by the original strip of leather. The front flap opens easily and the oval makers stamp is there but with my eyes I can not read it. Both galvanized tins are present for the two cartridge holders. The strap on the front flap that hooks on the brass bullet holder is partially there. The cross strap is complete with the eagle plate. The plate is also a great strike and i put a large pin in the loops to keep it on the strap. There is some what appears to be white paint on the cartridge box and cross strap, I just rubbed it and I think its mold as it came right off. Anyways a great find and with sharp plates. WW2 JAPANESE TM-E 30-480 1944
Just bought this from a picker its the Japanese Military Forces Hand Book Sept 15, 1944. This is the much sought after original war time issued all inclusive book on Japanese forces, weapons, tactics, vehicles, insignia, etc. The fiber cover is held together with a draw string that looks like a shoe lace. The book is complete and has a few pages that have pulled outward from the twin holes to hold it in the book and the few pages are tattered on the end. Great reading lot to learn from it. UNIQUE WWI SONS IN SERVICE FLAG
I just picked this son in service flag up in a local antique shop. its made of worsted wool and is 21" wide by 33" long the white panel has two gold stars, one silver oak leaf, and 20 blue stars. It took me a while to figure out that the silver star was not a star but a leaf and then talking with friends found out that the silver oak leaf emblem was for a son joining the Canadian military. As you can guess its the first time I have seen this silver leaf on a sons in service flag. The top of the flag has a reinforced white border with large grommets in it to hang up. There are numerous moth holes but displays well. Condition Good -

WWII 5TH HEAVY BOMBARDMENT GROUP CLOTH INSIGNIA
Honestly this is the best bomb group insignia graphics I have ever seen
including all the Disney ones. The 5th heavy bomb group was part of
the 7th Air Force. This is a Pacific heavy bomb group with the
Bomber Barons as there official guy. Its really neat with the skull and
the top hat and he looks mad too. Over all size 16" x 16". I have put a high price on this as I
think that I will frame it for myself. Condition some folds two dark
spots Good +
Some history of the group The 5th Bombardment Group suffered devastating casualties and equipment damage during the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hickam Field and other targets on the island of Oahu on 7 December 1941. However, the group’s aircrews went on to become the first U.S. military forces to take to the air following the attack. Assigned to Seventh Air Force in February 1942. Engaged primarily in search and patrol missions off Hawaii from December 1941 to November 1942. In Hawaii, the B-17E-equipped 5th and 11th Bombardment Groups were used in the Battle of Midway to attack Japanese surface fleets. High-altitude bombing attacks against moving ships capable of evasive action proved to be completely unsuccessful at Midway. Although several attacks were made by the B-17s, none of their bombs actually hit a single Japanese ship. An attack against naval vessels at sea was found to be a job best done by low-altitude B-25 Mitchell/B-26 Marauder medium bombers or by Douglas A-24 Banshee dive bombers. Left Hawaii in November 1942 and, operating primarily from Pekoa Airfield, Espírito Santo in the New Hebrides Islands with a mix of B-17 and B-24 aircraft, served in combat with Thirteenth Air Force during the Allied drive from the Solomons to the Philippines. Flew long patrol and photographic missions over the Solomon Islands and the Coral Sea, attacked Japanese shipping off Guadalcanal, and raided airfields in the northern Solomons until August 1943. Then struck enemy bases and installations on Bougainville, New Britain, and New Ireland. The group moved between various bases in the Southwest Pacific and by mid-1943, most B-17s were withthdrawn in favor of the longer-ranged Consolidated B-24 Liberator. The B-24 was better suited for operations in the Pacific, having a higher speed and a larger bombload at medium altitudes. In addition, the losses in Europe were reaching such magnitudes that the entire B-17 production was urgently needed for replacements and training in that theatre. Raided the heavily defended Japanese base on Woleai during April and May 1944 and received a Distinguished Unit Citation for the action. Helped to neutralize enemy bases on Yap and in the Truk and Palau Islands, June–August 1944, preparatory to the invasion of Peleliu and Leyte. Flew missions to the Netherlands Indies, receiving a DUC for an attack, conducted through heavy flak and fighter defenses, on oil installations at Balikpapan, Borneo, on 30 September 1944. Completed a variety of missions from October 1944 until the end of the war, these operations including raids on enemy bases and installations on Luzon, Ceram, Halmahera, and Formosa; support for ground forces in the Philippines and Borneo; and patrols off the China coast. Moved to the Philippines in 1945 till the end of the war. During the nearly four years of war, the group participated in 10 major campaigns, flew more than 1,000 combat missions and earned two Distinguished Unit Citations and the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation. During the time, its members accumulated more than 13,300 medals and decorations. |
